Here are some information I would like to share with my dearest friends.
It is worth to undergo for a comprehensive screening if you haven’t do so. The benefit is you can be assured with your health status and take precaution if anything goes wrong at the early stage of detection.
Early detection and prevention will reduce the forming of uncureable diseases. So my friends, I have found some useful information here for the sake of your health. Please be patient to read until the end. This is some piece of information found in one of the clinic I do my body check for the past 5 years.
Aims Of Screening Programs:
- To identify well persons with potential health risk factors.
- To identify asymptomatic persons with early signs of the disease.
- To evaluate your health status & early prevention of disease
Why Screen In The First Place?
Early detection and prevention will reduce the incidence of diseases and ensure better chances of a full recovery.
Examples…
Resting ECG can detect heart strain and stress test can detect early signs of heart disease. Heart related problems can be controlled or prevented by:-
- Reduction in cholesterol.
- Reduction in high blood pressure.
- Reduction in weight.
- Well controlled diabetes mellitus.
- Reduction in smoking.
Breast cancer is by far the most common cancer in women and the incidence is increasing. Early detection increases the chances of a more effective treatment.
Effective treatment of cervical cancer (women) and prostate cancer (men) are more likely, if detected early.
High blood pressure, anaemia and weight problem can also be detected, and subsequently be treated and monitored.
One-on-One Attention
Tailored specifically to each participants age, sex and lifestyle behaviour, these thorough examinations are especially valuable in uncovering medical problems that may otherwise have gone undetected. Our program offers one-on-one attention, plenty of time for questions and discussion, personal follow-up and testing, all conducted at a nationally recognised medical centre, complete with modern technology and highly trained staff.
When To Screen?
Generally, individuals are encouraged to undergo a full medical screening every 3-5 years up to the age of 50 years. This should then be followed by a similar screening every 1-2 years.

SOME INFO ON TESTS IN THE PACKAGES:
What is Liquid-based Pap Test (ThinPrep Pap Test)?
This is a test for woman who has sexual life and the test is to detect any cervical cancer (At our laboratory, this test is done using the ThinPrep Pap Test method which is FDA-approved and differs from the conventional Pap Smear, in that, after the cells are obtained in the usual manner, the cells are placed directly in a collection vial containing a fluid preservative. A processor in the laboratory separates the cells from other materials such as blood and mucus and the cells are then transferred to a slide to form a uniform, thin layer that is much easier to read and interpret compared to the conventional method)
Mammogram?
Is a test for ladies above 40 years old.
